Week 2 ...a breeze. Update: The smoke detectors have been checked.
I have to admit I am a bit excited and may cut this challenge down a few months!
I think just getting the back packs out and wanted to fill them is very motivating!

Emergency Preparedness
This week will be the beginning of my commitment to do something so simple, it is almost very silly to talk/blog about. I am going to prepare for an Emergency!
Not that it is exciting but I love my family so much, I don't ever want them to look into my eyes with fear or wondering any more than they will about drinking or eating. Sounds like third world fears but actually it is very close to home. My brother town was hit by a tornado and had no electricity for 5 days, I believe. The stories he told me were almost out of a movie. I hung up with him when the tornadoes where in his area, and he said he was safe. But he wasn't, after we hung up, it was all around him. His home was spared, Praise God! But not for many others. He had no electricity...etc. After I learned this, It really hit me, how I should be more prepared. I lived up North and also have snow days that would stop life in its track.
My goal is to follow the blog SixSistersstuff.com http://www.sixsistersstuff.com/2012/07/build-your-72-hour-kit-in-52-weeks.html on 3 day emergency preparedness...which is so simple. Alrighty so here goes...Week One is getting the duffle bags or back packs and put them in a place to grab if you need to leave your home.
Note: The Red Cross has more details as well.
Step One: Complete 4 back packs in place! That was easy!

Time To Organize! Dollar Tree Items
When walking into an empty home/apt when searching for a new home, I find I love knowing of the clean and freshness of starting over. I can picture my own items in this space. After finding the place to live in, I then unpack and find a place for everything. I am happy now!!! Then life takes over, and other members have their own concept of organization or they don't :)
So as things become dis-ray, I become discourage. Work, Time, Committments add up and my haven becomes piled up!
But now is the time to get moving. After an answered prayer of "just begin and get started", I then started my first plot...the dresser!!! So one late night out comes the sock drawer (I was a sockaholic) not kidding, I had socks from the 80s-90s~craaaazzzzy now that I think about it. So I happily organized them! Yeah and double Yeah! Now comes the feeling, of what else next to organize, I am excited. Now onto the rest of the dresser...& under that bathroom sinks and cabinet drawers. Ridding many items of time not treasures. Also, getting a new view on what I have.
Finally I wanted a few organizing items, but not costly items. So off the Dollar Tree I go and what fun that turned into. I found items for my office and the beginning of turning my son's room into a big 2 year old room!
here is the video to show a quick easy way (to get ya thinking) of what you can do what ever your budget is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcKLPqMtNfE&feature=g-upl

I have also found as I am detoxing the home, a few storage containers in the process. That was a nice unexpected help to keep cost.
I hope you can see a quick project to do that will help in any way! I can say it has been fun and I love see the creativity and cleansing unfolding! I will be posting more ideas. Whether it is being healthy, excercising, or organizing...it is all good!

Just came off another 9 day fast....
Wow! Loved this fast...so much easier than the last. I knew I wanted to do another fast, but for spiritual reasons this time! Well my facebook is a collection of family and friends, but I have created my very own "FB newworthy paper" so I can read only what is meaningful to me.
After liking "Brad's Raw Foods" he had posted a 7 day challenge. Really? Yes! I am in. My husband went to Whole Foods in search for Brad's Raw Chips...and what a blessing that became. I kept them at work and grabbed the bag as needed!
Since my last posting I had purchased and Excalibur Dehydrator (happy dance here). So I was much more prepared this time because of my Dehydrator. I have made Garlic Zucchini Chips, Dried Apples, Kale Chips with Nacho Cashew Cheese http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAc0R7UmzYc and much more. After finishing this challenge, I felt fantastic! This time I had the support and more raw recipes that are needed. Make it a great day :)

Day 9! Raw Food Fast
As the title says, Day 9! I passed my 7 day fast with Raw foods. As much as I am missing my cooked and dense meals...I am enjoying the foods I am eating.
My Easy Raw Granola has been the closest texture for me at this time. I have enjoyed this for breakfast and for snacks. Smoothies are almost daily now. The home is now officially a juice/smoothie bar! It also has been back to basics of just grabbing a peach or berries to snack on. My snacks would have been a vegan processed cookie ~ not bad but glad to up the game in the energy of raw foods! Now eating raw vegan cookies with cranberries.
I have lost about 3 lbs which is safe. I didn't want to do this for weightloss (even though a bonus) but wanted to just clean it up even more. I needed a push to feel even better and knew I could.
Planning is the best tool! So on the next raw food fast, I will definitly have a list of meals planned. What my mind is saying over and over is, "if I had a dehydrator or vita-mix", HA!! Never ends but looking forward to crackers/pizzas etc. The brain though, is saying keep on until and you will share this with other!
keep it simple and have fun! blessings ;)
